Sailors Chest Small - A hammock and his trademark ches were a sailor's private universe. The chest stored his belongings, clothes, tools, letters etc. The chest handles showed his expertise in mastering complicated knots and hitches, splices and whippings. A ship's carpenter usually made the chest from spare deck planks, showing off his skill in angles dovetails that connect its slanting boards. Chests that survived traveling the seven seas are far and few between, so we had to research their classical design and intricate construction. Handles called beckets by the old salts, and chest are entirely hand made. Measures 24.75" long by 12.5" high with a width of 12.25". You may view a large image here.
