Tea Clipper 'Thermopylae' 1868 - Hurtling down the ocean's highways, famous clipper ships made record passages to Canton and Sydney. Rounding Cape Horn while braving furious gales and storms, they passed by lands originally calle Terra Incognita. Their records of passage have been documented and their names are legendary. Half models were built by shipwrights from the Age of Sail as a record of the specific shape of a ship's hull. Traditionally built from hollowed out, stacked planks of alternationg color wood. Half models are highly collectable and make beautiful home decor. Measures approximately 36.75" X 9.75"
