Red-hot steel rivets were sledge hammered by muscled shipbuilders. Cooling, they'd pull the plates tightly together. To some, rivets covered in layers of paint epitomize the classic transatlantic steamers. This fun waste basket is reminiscent of the mighty smoke stacks, painted in the livery of the White Star Line.
