Chris Moody Nautical Flag - Pirates earned their wages by capturing prizes and ransoming captives. To do battle against their opponent, risked the intended cargo and ship they meant to confiscate. A fight could also mean their own deaths. Rather than resort to physical violence, which they did only when necessary, they preferred to wage psychological warfare. Each crew had it's own flag. It was created to evoke horror as it was raised before attack.

Christopher Moody was a notorious pirate who operated off the coast of North Carolina between 1713 and 1718. His flag, with dark red background pictured an hour glass with blue wings, which was rumored to depict that his victims time of living was flying away, in the center he had a white arm hoisting a dagger in the air, and at the end he had a skull with bones. His flag when raised, was sure to terrify his victims. Flag includes brass ringed holes for hanging. Measures 3' x 5'.
