F5E Tiger II Northrop Model Plane - The F-5E was selected in November 1970 by the US government as the winner of a competition to determine the single-seat International Fighter Aircraft (IFA) that was to succeed Northrop's F-5A. The two-seat F-5F was developed subsequently. The first F-5E was rolled out at Hawthorne on June 23, 1972 and was sent to Edwards AFB for flight-testing. The aircraft took off on its maiden flight on August 11, 1972, with Hank Chouteau at the controls.

After shaping and sanding, the model passes through several stages of priming and sanding before it is hand painted to duplicate the actual colors of of a selected historical aircraft. Artisans detail from researched reference materials, including all the insignias, squadron badges, nose art, emblems and serial numbers to replicate the original aircraft to scale.
